questions on self hosting.

  Hi all.
  I have a question on self hosting and how difficult it is, or is not.
  I have run my blog for about 2 years, and a website. But I never found a photographer website to my liking. I have since found a wordpress theme that impressed me.
  I know NOTHING about self hosting.
  I have my own domain name.
  If i want to do this, can my blog history be moved to the self hosted word press site? I only have about 50 followers on WP but would like to drag them with me.
  Any links to this info? or how to do it?
  I had read up and thought blue host would be decent for hosting.
  Sorry if I have missed this info already, but didn’t see anything that exactly pertained to my situation.
