Questions on the new Neutra theme
-
Hi, Is this the right place to ask question about implementing the new Neutra theme? I love the simplicity of the new theme but have a few small glitches. My questions.
1. When you put a link in text, there’s an extra space that appears after the icon, before the text continues. It looks awkward. I checked other Neutra sites and didn’t see this problem on some. Am I doing something wrong?
2. The lists with buttons only indents the first line, not subsequent lines. Is that normal?
3. In a text widget, when the text starts with the copyright circle symbol, the left side of it is partially cut off.
Thanks in advance for your help. I’m at http://healingei.wordpress.com
And thanks very much to the WP team for the new theme. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The icon and the extra space after it appear in the Neutra theme if you set a link to open in a new window.
The lists are like that by design in the Neutra theme.
I couldn’t reproduce the problem with the copyright symbol in a text widget. Can you point me where I can see that problem happening or tell me if you used any extra html in the text widget before the symbol?

Hello there,
I’ve been playing around with this theme on my test blog.
(1) I see a tiny icon wehere you see a space. I like the tiny icon and I’m wondering why you can’t see it. I’m using Firefox 3.6.(2) What I see in the bulleted list in your post here http://healingei.wordpress.com/2010/03/28/favorite-books-on-meditation/ is no indentation at all on any of the bulleted items. I don’t know if that’s what the web designer had in mind or not. Normally unordered or bulleted listed are indented.
(3) I don’t see the text being cut off on the left hand side.
I suggest that you contacts Staff with your feedback http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
P.S. We read the same books. :)
P.P.S. I like the appearance change that switching to this theme has created on your site very much. it looks clean and very professional. -
OOPS! I now see that designsimply has posted above my comment. Forget contacting Staff – they are already on it. :)

DS and TT, thank you so much. I truly appreciate your help.
DS, I’ll try changing the ‘open link in new window’ so the space goes away. TT — I do see the icon but I think there really is a space after the icon too. I’ll try DS’s suggestion.
DS, re: the copyright symbol, it’s the second image in the sidebar that says ‘aloha’…with the white flower. It’s just slivered off on the left. No html added in the widget box. This is totally a small thing…
BTW, I also noticed that if you don’t put text in the image widget title, that little beige square that comes at the end of the title text (on all/most neutra widgets) is still there, just hanging right above the photo in the first (empty) character spot. I just popped in the ‘aloha’ to remove this problem, but I don’t always necessarily want to have a title above a photo. If that’s how it is though I’ll improvise.
About the lists, the lack of indentation makes them look a bit sloppy, which I feel doesn’t fit well with the purity of this theme. Oh well!
One other little thing on the drop down menu under ‘illness’ the first ‘child’ title (environmental illness) doesn’t fit in the drop down box so a few of the letters drift over the right side of the box. I guess this is just the limit of the box size and I need to shorten the title. When a title is too long and two words, I notice it splits it to 2 lines.
TT: Thanks for the positive feedback. I’ll be very curious to see if you switch to Neutra too. I added a list of sites that have switched to Neutra on my recent post called “Neutra” if you want to see some others. I still need to clean up the pages and fine tune a bit more. Vigilance has many strong points that I miss, but my site was looking too busy for me.
Thanks again!
P. S. TT: Why am I not surprised that we read the same books?

@sandrapawula: You can eliminate the symbol and the space after target-blank links by changing this (in the html editor):
<a href=[etc.]
to this:
<a style="background:none;margin-right:-25px;" href=[etc.] -

DS, Just changing the link to open in this window removed the space (and icon) as you said. Thanks.
