I’ve a page which lists my latest blog posts but the headings aren’t underlined so people don’t know they are links to longer articles, how do I get them underlined.
How do I put a clickable link in the header? The one I’m using currently isn’t a live link.

    Correct account: Yes

    Hi there!

If a theme doesn’t display the underline by default, the only way to add it is by inserting custom CSS code to the site. Custom CSS is available with the WordPress.com Premium plan and higher. If you’d like to upgrade, you can do so at this link: https://wordpress.com/plans

If you check out the demo site of the Twenty Twenty theme, you’ll notice that it doesn’t display the underline there either. It’s part of the theme design. However, if you’d like to display only the latest blog posts on your homepage, you can get your site to look like this page from the theme demo: https://twentytwentydemo.wordpress.com/blog/

If you’d like that look, you can click My Site → Appearance → Customize → Homepage Settings → select “Your latest posts” under “Your homepage displays” and click Save Changes.

Please give that a try and see if you like that design for your homepage showing the latest blog posts.

    Hi there
Thank you. I’m not looking to upgrade at all. Maybe I’m old school but I believe links should always be underlined. I just want the blog post headings on this page https://rhoshelygfhs.wordpress.com/ to be underlined so that it is clear they should be clicked to read the whole article.

Doing this: If you’d like that look, you can click My Site → Appearance → Customize → Homepage Settings → select “Your latest posts” under “Your homepage displays” and click Save Changes. Changes it so the whole blog post appears on the homepage rather than an excerpt and people don’t realise that there are other posts.

    Thank you
    Ruth

  • Hello Ruth,

If links are added into the page content, you can add more formatting via the bar toolbar as seen here: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/paragraph-block/#block-toolbar

Some links, like headings of posts will rely on the themes CSS styling, so if you require adding underlines to these parts, you would need custom CSS to override the theme default.

    I hope this helps.
