Quick draft body text always incompatible block when draft opened

    For some time now, I’ve been dealing with this situation. I’m using WP.com not hosting my own CMS so being outdated can’t be the issue.

    1. I navigate to chrisorbz.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php
    2. I enter a title and brief body text to the Quick Draft box and Save Draft (via the button).
    3. I click the title that then appears in the draft list below, to open that draft in the full standard block-based editor.
    4. The title is retained, but the body text rejected as incompatible.

    If I convert the broken block to HTML and then just convert it back to a standard block, plain text will just appear as it should have. No re-formatting of the body text is required for it to be double-swapped successfully, and the content of the body text is not a factor. I am not including anything intended to be interpreted as markup tagging or code, nor am I including any special characters.

    This bug appears 100% of the time and has for at least a year. I’m using up-to-date Chrome, on Windows 10, without proxy or VPN or active extension modding of the page, and I don’t even have a domain name to bounce through to the WP.com subdomain. I have no plugins installed on my blog, and have noticed nothing on the public side of the site that indicates anything breaking, broken or bugging out. No other site shows signs of issues passing text field content forward to another page or up to a server DB, and as I said, this isn’t an issue of the body text not making it to the server or being malformed when it does – double-translation via HTML resolves the error.
