"Quick Emergency CSS Solution" then, ask for forgiveness and Read about CSS

    Hey folks,

    If I may request a “quick emergency CSS Solution” and then ask for forgiveness and then READ about CSS before ever messing with the code again …

    Note that the “Text Width” for every single Page (however, NOT the posts), is “too narrow” on “Inuit Types.”

    Visual:

    Again, this only applies to the Pages, and not the Posts.

    In fact, I accidentally changed the Post width, distorting the photo sizes – but was able to fix that.

    So this request only applies to the pages, on Inuit Types, which is a great theme.

    I have tried changing the percentages and pagination parameters with no success.

    I would be most grateful to anyone who could provide the magic number required and what line it should go on.

    Then I will read about CSS before ever changing the numbers again.

    Thank you in advance ….

    Tom

    Hi there,
    There is no such thing as quick emergency CSS support on this peer support forum where Volunteers ie. your fellow bloggers answer questions. CSS editing is now supported by Staff so you can contact them using the Help link on the upper right hand corner of your Admin page. Or you can wait until one of the Volunteers who help with CSS log-in and respond to this thread.
    P.S.I have flagged this thread for you so it is moved into the CSS Support Forum.

    See if adding this fixes the issue.

    .page .content .post {
    width: 610px;
    }

    ~~TSP – me thinks their site needs more than a little CSS fix –

    @ The Sacred Path !

    THANK YOU !!! Adding this code (to the end of the CSS template) immediately widened every page to the appropriate width within half a second – That was indeed a Quick Emergency Response !

    That issue has been unresolved on my web site for 6 months. Thanks so much for posting the CSS !

    This is a very good lesson for NEW users of CSS – The Reason the code dissapeared was probably due to me going in and modifying the CSS, not knowing anything about it. Clearly, I deleted a few lines by mistake, and really got in trouble. I will read a book on CSS before touching it again !

    @TimeThief I do not want to sound unkind, however, I believe it is up to the wordpress user to decide what forum to post questions on. I posted it here since I knew there would someone who would respond quickly. The CSS forum has very low ratings compared to here.

    @AuxClass Again I do not want to sound unkind, however, I do not think that the help forums are not the place to address your personal preferences. Since it’s an architecture blog, Inuit Types was chosen as a minimalist theme to highlight oversized photographs, and present large text in various colors. If you like the blog or the topic, you are welcome to post suggestions about the blog in the comments sections of my blog.

    Thanks Again – The Sacred Path ! Have a GREAT day .
