Quick ques.: Capabilities of paid CSS on WP hosted site. not a syntax question

I’ve been asked to add some CSS styling to our blog.

This includes ads / banners / boxes to the left and right of the blog content.

I’ve been trying for a while to figure it out, but now I’m realizing that the ability to use custom css is still heavily limited by an inability to modify the html / wrapper / code.

Would adding said objects to the blog even be possible?

  • If you want (or require) this type of access, you will do well to take a look at WordPress.org as a solution. You have access to all the HTML, CSS, and PHP files that power your blog. Suitable hosts can be found at http://www.wordpress.org/hosting.

p.s. advertising is not permitted here, either.

    bubel, that was quick, thanks.

what if instead of advertising, we were “mentioning” our own products :)

I’ve asked before mgmt before to just host it ourselves, but that wasn’t something they wanted to do. I’m well versed in PHP and mySQL, and I have it installed on my own machine (just to take a look at when I initially proposed this). Making these changes that way would be a breeze, I know.

    thanks for your help!

  • Can you – by any chance – clarify “mentioning”?

well we have our own products, it would just be an image with a link to view (and buy) information about our own products.

  • If the primary reason for your blog’s existence is to promote products, it will most likely exist outside of our terms. If you add some content to your blog (or have a specific example from your blog), please send Support a note (you can even attach my name) for further review/discussion.
