Quicktag Hyperlink Troubles

  Hi there. I’m familiar with how to hyperlink things, and have read the faq. But what is happening to me is when I go to add a hyperlink to another site in my posts, everything looks fine until I publish the post, and then the word I used as the hyperlink, and the rest of the paragraph it is in disappears. After editing the post 5 or 6 times, it eventually all gets in there correctly, but what a pain.

  This is what I am doing in detail:

  1. I write my post in Notepad, to avoid any weird formatting issues.

  2. I copy the whole post text and paste it into the Write a Post window.

  3. I then apply any formatting I want, add hyperlinked urls, add any photos, etc. I have been doing this only with the Quicktag buttons, ie. no fiddling with the html directly.

  4. Once everything looks ok, I publish, and double-check to see if everything looks ok.

  And this is where the problem comes in. Most of the hyperlinks aren’t there at all, and the text in that paragraph following where the hyperlink should have been is just gone. (Multiple edits eventually fixes it, but there has to be a less retarded way to do this hehe.)

  Can we please see a post of where this has occured?

  Which editor are you using?

  Are you doing anything weird within the links like styles or targets or anything like that?

  I kept editing the posts until they were correct, so nope I can’t show a post with the problem.

  I did turn off the wysiwyg editor which I was using during the problems though, and my last post posted ok…maybe that other editor just has some issues hehe :)

  *chuckle* The WYSIWYG editor is known for having issues. :)
