Quintus formatting
-
Hi there, I’m using Quintus for my theme on my blog (joepezzula.com) what I’m trying to do is adjust the settings so that whenever I make a post, the initial post as seen on the front page of the blog is for the ‘first part’ of the post, then a reader will have to click through to see the rest. In other words, say I write a short story that is 1,000 words or 10 paragraphs. Adjust the setting of the post so that when the blog is posted, the visitor will see only the first paragraph and a ‘link’ to the rest of the story. Also to make the front page of the blog only show the four most recent posts… I can’t seem to find the right option to adjust these within the theme’s page when I click through to settings…sorry if it’s obvious!!

Hello @joepezzula,
There are no obvious things :) Let’s start first by getting your homepage to display only the 4 most recent posts.
From your Dashboard, go to Settings>Reading.
On the “Blog pages show at most”, change the number into 4, then scroll the page down till the end and click the blue Save Changes button to validate your edit.To show the beginning excerpts of your posts and put a link that leads to your full post, you can use the “Read More” tag.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to include it on your blog posts: https://en.support.wordpress.com/more-tag/.If you get stuck at any step, just let me know and I’ll be glad to help :)
