Quintus 'Read-More' button not working for past posts

    I have a simple uncomplicated blog in the Quintus theme that readily accepts the ‘Read More’ in current posts but will not work when I try to add in past postings. I have tried code, clicking on the button, all updates are in place. I also searched this here but most answers are quite old. Thoughts gratefully received!
