Quora Connection
-
I’m trying to connect my quora account to my wordpress, but from some troubleshooting I saw that I need to enable xml-rpc under remote publishing. The problem is, I can’t find that anywhere in my settings, including when I sign in as an admin. How do I resolve the issue?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Exactly, what do you mean by connect?
You can create a custom menu https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/view-all/#1-create-a-custom-menu
You can then add a custom link into it to your Quora site https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/view-all/#adding-custom-links -
By connect, I mean I’m trying to go into my quora account and connect my wordpess account to quora, but for some reason it won’t accept my account. I tried looking up some answers and I keep seeing to enable xml-rpc on wordpress for it to work. I sent quora a message, but they didn’t get back to me yet.
I hope that makes more sense.

I am sorry but it does not make sense to me and I do not know why you are referring to enabling xml-rpc https://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/

Hi –
There is not a direct integration tool to use Quora on a WordPress.com hosted site. What site are you working on?

I was working on quora and went to settings to connect my wordpress account, but it wasn’t signing me in. I figure it might be specifically a quora problem, but I decided to troubleshoot the problem just in case. Most of the answers I got dealt with signing into wp-admin, going to writing within settings, and enabling xml-rpc under remote publishing (which doesn’t exist). But as you said, there isn’t a direct integration tool and I wasn’t quite sure if I was just imagining that there was and I wasn’t finding it, and why I kept seeing this information repeatedly. So that’s why I posed the question to the forum. Sorry, I really didn’t mean to cause more confusion on the subject.

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

No worries at all. As timethief mentioned there’s 2 versions of WordPress. When you’re searching online for help it is important to not if the source references WordPress (self hosted) or WordPress.com. This way you make sure that the instructions are applicable.

Yeah, that’s probably where I got confused and I quickly skimmed over .com versus .org, and assumed it was .com because that’s what I’ve been playing around with off and on for a few years haha. Thanks for the help!
