quotations turned to jumble in upgrade to 2.2

  I just upgraded my site to wordpress 2.2. Eveything seemed fine til i realized all of my quotations and apostraphes were just the codes on the site instead of the actual symbol
  for example: don’t now looks like don’t
  has this happened to anybody else? Also hopefully there is an easy fix.
