  I am looking at the premium business package at £250 per year – what are the additional costs e.g. hosting etc?

  I guess there is no more costs associated to the plan. For this price, you will get everything listed here: https://store.wordpress.com/plans/business/ and hosting is included.

  @vickimh79 is correct – hosting a website on WordPress.com is free of charge, but specifically with the Business Plan, you get Premium Themes, E-Commerce, Unlimited Storage, and more:
