Quote formatting won't show on my blog
-
Hi! I use the “Sceptical” theme on my blog and love it, but since I plan to use a lot of quotes I need some help here, please. The theme supports this formatting, according to their demo blog it should be like this: click for image
On my blog it looks just like a simple text post without a title (in other words: an “aside” post), and I can’t imagine what else I could do besides chosing the quote option from all the shiny formatting options on the right side of the menu.
So… is it me, or is it a bug in the theme? Any help is appreciated!

Why choose to use the post format for quotes? Why not edit and choose “standard” as a post format instead?

To make the quote show up as it’s supposed to, you need to format it as a blockquote: highlight the text, click the blockquote button, update.

Thank you, justpi, that was quick and perfect! And now excuse me while I go and bash my head against the wall, so I’ll remember to try thinking next time before I ask… *ashamed*

You’re welcome, and no, don’t bash your head! The behavior of alternative post formats varies from theme to theme: some themes require what I pointed out above, but on other themes a quote format post will display in a special way even when the content isn’t an actual bq.
