quotes in a sidebar

I want to put various short quotes in my sidebar. I tried using the text widget, but it’s not working out. The text widget shows not only the heading in a bold text, it every other word following the heading in bold as well. I would like only the heading “QUOTES” to be in bold, and the following quotes text to be regular. I don’t have a custom CSS theme. Is there a way to do this?

Without know what theme you are using and exactly what you put into the widget Title space and the body of the widget we cannot test this. Please specify which theme you are using, and exactly what you posted the title space and body space of the widget. :)

No problem. The way titles are displayed in text widgets in your sidebar is declared in the coding for the theme. You cannot change it without a CSS upgrade. Some themes like Benevolence have the font in the body of the text coded to be all in capital lettering. You were previously using Rubric. Is that the theme you are using now>

I want the quotes themselves to be in regular black print, with only the heading “QUOTES” to be in the bold red text

One way around this is to create an image if the quote and upload it and place it in the text widget. That’s the only way I can think of to can control the capitalization without the CSS editing upgrade.

For no bold text:
<div style="font-weight:normal;"> YOUR_TEXT_HERE </div>For no bold and no red:
<div style="font-weight:normal;color:black;"> YOUR_TEXT_HERE </div> -
there is an easier way to put text and image in widget…I do this all the time.
Write it in your post then save draft, copy the html page and paste it on your text widget.
I can’t do html…it confused me…so writing on the post is way easier

Thanks for intervening – bookmarked. :) This isn’t about bold lettering. It’s about ALL LETTERS BEING CAPITALIZED. Have you got a fix for that? -
@timethief: Yes I’ve got a fix for that too! But jhanajian2 is using Rubric, not Benevolence. In Rubric the default for text widgets isn’t capitals, it’s bold red, and that’s what jhanajian2 wants to change (see 8.02 and 8.03 posts).
