Quotes not escaped in title attribute
-
Can we post bugs here? Ok, I will…
Create a post, and use quotes in the title, something like:
HTML “Error” eh?
Save the post.
Go to the home page of your WordPress.com blog, and attempt to validate the markup.
It won’t. This is what was output:
<a href="http://raster.wordpress.com/2006/03/02/html-error-eh/#comments" title="Comment on HTML "Error" eh?">[3] Comments</a>It should be like so:
<a href="http://raster.wordpress.com/2006/03/02/html-error-eh/#comments" title="Comment on HTML “Error” eh?">[3] Comments</a>Which is what happens on the individual post page, but not on the home page.
Thanks!

Crap, of course it got eaten a bit…
Second example should be like so:
<a href="http://raster.wordpress.com/2006/03/02/html-error-eh/#comments" title="Comment on HTML “Error” eh?">[3] Comments</a>(Just in case, that’s & # 8220; and & # 8221; around the word Error, minus the spaces.)

Argh! Third Try…
Second example should be like so:
<a href="http://raster.wordpress.com/2006/03/02/html-error-eh/#comments" title="Comment on HTML &#8220;Error&#8221; eh?">[3] Comments</a> -

Did you send a feedback about this? If not, you should — while the developers drop in here occasionally, they do promise to read every feedback sent and bugs stand a much better chance of getting fixed if reported that way.
(If you already sent a feedback, thanks.)
