Radcliffe 2 Contact Page

Hi – can anybody tell me how to remove the ‘Like’ button from the default ‘Contact’ page supplied with the Radcliffe 2 theme?

I’ve switched off the ‘Like’ option on all other pages in the settings which has worked – it just doesn’t seem to have affected the Contact page.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi there,

I still see the option to display a Like button selected when I view that page in the editor.

The option to enable/disable like and sharing buttons per post are not available in the new block editor yet, so create a new post, click the three dots top-right, and select the Switc to Classic Editor option from the menu.

Then edit the page, disable Likes, and update.

Once you’ve done this you can enable the block editor again by creating a new post or page and clicking the prompt in the editor.

Great, thanks – that’s sorted it.

I don’t suppose you know if it’s possible to change the colours of the menu items and page titles using a free account?

    Thanks again,

    Jonathan

  • Hi there,

That would require CSS which is a feature connected to both the premium and business plans:

If you decide to purchase one of those plans, feel free to contact us again and we’d be happy to assist you with the code.

    Thanks,

Hi – I am trying to add a background to my homepage for the theme Radcliffe 2 and for some reason it’s not working.

I tried scaling the photos down to what size it says for featured images 2000 x 1500 but this didn’t work still and came up too small and then everything else I try doesn’t work either.

Can anyone tell me the size for the background image or help at all???

    Thank you

  • @emilyrose9619,

In future, please don’t post into existing threads created by other users. Doing so makes it harder for us to help both you and them. Also please always include a link to your site when asking for help.

Are you speaking of https://mentalbeauty.co.uk/? That site is on our Personal plan, so you also have access to live chat support for help with this via the help icon that appears on all the My Site pages.

Radcliffe doesn’t have a recommended image size for backgrounds – the recommended size for featured images only applies to featured images. There is no recommended size for backgrounds, and whatever resolution you upload the image at, is the size that will display. So the image you have set as the background at the moment is displaying at 100% the 3667 × 2455px of the actual image. It’s not scaled down or cropped to ensure the entire image shows as the background.

A 27-inch monitor has around 2560 pixels width, so at 3667 pixels wide your image is bigger than what even a very wide monitor will display, so if you want the image to show in full you’ll need to make it much smaller. You might need to play around a bit with different image sizes to find one that’s right, but I’d recommend aiming for something in the vicinity of 1200 to 1500px wide.

Then in the Customizer you’ll see an Options button appear after you upload a background image. Click that, and you’ll also be able to control the image’s positioning, as well as setting if the image should repeat itself if someone’s screen is bigger than the actual image.
