Radcliffe Text Color–Front page

When I try editing the “color and background,” it allows me to select a custom color.

Along with this, the text changes to a readable color automatically. For example, I made it dark burgundy, and the text became white/light blue by itself. This is fine.

However, when I update it and view the site, the font changes back to black no matter what. This makes it hard to read.

I know that the “free” version doesn’t allow custom text colors. But this seems like a bug; why would the visual version change the text color in the first place, if it won’t let you keep it? How can this be fixed?

  • Hi there,

This is a bug, but with the Customizer, not the theme – the preview the Customizer is showing you is incorrect, as it’s showing you what would have happened if you had the Custom Design upgrade included in Premium and Business. But the way the text displays on your live site is actually correct, as changing the background colour changes only that, nothing else.

If you want to use a darker background on your site, you’ll first need to apply one of the free colour palettes in your theme that has a lighter font colour. If you add the dark background after first switching the palette, the lighter font colour of the palette you chose should be used.
