Radical changes to composition page
-
The page on which you type your blog or essay has been radically altered. Very upsetting. Worse, the bar containing facilities is missing the one icon that allowed the writer to square the text, same length each line, side-to-side. Can this be put back? And is the previous format gone altogether now?

Hi @grousebeater, it sounds like you’re referring to the Justify button. Here’s how to find it:
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-com-classic-editor-deprecation-faqs/#justify-text-in-the-block-editorThis article also includes information about the changes between editors. I’d recommend reading all of it, then let us know if you still have questions.

The radical changes to the composition page are bloody awful, quite unnecessary.
Whereas before all the icons and formatting were in front of you soon as you opened up to write a blog, and they corresponded to the pages one has already published, this looks as if a sheet of type paper was slotted into an old fashioned typewriter, it is almost completely blank.
Professional writers such as me do not have the spare time to go hunting for icons or line spacing corrections. Currently, I cannot find how to place a photograph into my essay as before.
Why be so radical in one ell swoop, throwing learned habit into confusion?!!!
Nil out of 10 for treating loyal members as guinea pigs.
What a mess.

If you want to put an image into your essay, you do so with the Image Block, https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/image-block/
