Hi there!
Third party code cannot be installed on WordPress.com sites. This is a security risk as we cannot vet all outside code and it puts our users, their sites, and our servers at risk.
Plugins and third party code are only usable on self-hosted WordPress.org sites.
I know the difference between .com and .org can get confusing, so here’s a breakdown of the benefits of each:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/Sometimes, even without the installation of code or a plugin, we can help you gain the function you’d like here at WordPress.com. If you let me know your goals, perhaps I can help further.
Please let me know! Cheers.

Yes please if you can help that would be great. I’m trying to do a giveaway on my blog and thought I would use raffle copter. What other way can I do this? Ali x

Hey Ali,
Since having an embedded Rafflecopter giveaway isn’t possible here at WordPress.com, most of our users will use a random number generator outside of their blog.
The giveaway you’d create would ask for entries via comments (and Facebook likes, or Twitter followers, etc), then you’d just assign those numbers according to when they’re received. Then, you could use something like this free web app:
http://andrew.hedges.name/experiments/random/It is definitely a more manual process that embedding Rafflecopter, but it does work. I’ve done it :)
I hope this helps! If you have any other concerns, drop me a note. Thanks much!

Hiya, Im still not sure what you mean! I understand the random number generator but do i just give a new follower/like a number? how do I explain on my blog what I want people to do to enter?! x
-
Ali,
What I’ve done in the past is asked everyone who is entering the contest to leave a comment. Then, when the contest ends, I view the number of comments for the post. Then, I ask the random number generator to choose a number between 1 and X. If the generator chooses a 7, I count the 7th commenter as the winner.
What I’ve seen other bloggers do, who also open the contest up to Facebook Likes, or Twitter ReTweets, let’s say — is have the commenters add another comment on the post. So, they might leave one comment that says “I Follow you on Facebook!” and another post that says, “I retweeted your Post!” Then, they have 2 entries in your giveaway.
No matter how many ways you might allow a user to enter, you’d have them add an extra comment on your Post. You’re rewarding them with extra entries because they’re supporting your site in multiple ways.
I did a google search for you and found this contest/giveaway as an example:
