  I appreciate WordPress support of world-wide issues and fellow bloggers’ beliefs, however the beliefs of some should not be placed on all. I feel that a business should never publicly side with one belief or another. We have a wide range of beliefs here on WordPress and therefore the WordPress staff should respect them all. For this reason, I humbly ask that you please remove the rainbow banner from WordPress. It is highly disrespectful to those who believe differently. Thank you.

  I agree. I run a completely apolitical site and I don’t like having politics injected into it, even if I am the only one who sees it. WordPress should not be imposing this on everyone. If someone wants to celebrate it, they can go ahead and do so, but those who disagree with it or those who are uninvolved with politics or even American issues should not have to endure it. What about WordPress users in Muslim countries? This may not be something they wish to celebrate. Is WordPress sensitive to them and their beliefs?

  bubbasuess – I was thinking the same thing. We have people here from all over the world. Why should they have to partake in an American ruling, that they very well could disagree with or quite possibly not even care about? How selfish are we, as American’s, to impose our politics or our individual beliefs on the entire world? That is what our personal blogs are for, if we choose to do so, where people can *choose* what they read or don’t read.

  I agree with the previous comments. Please remove the rainbow banner. Not everyone agrees with that issue, and it should not be forced upon us.
