WP…please remove the offensive banner from my site. I resent you forcing your political views on all of your customers. It is hypocritical of you to tout your stand on protecting free speech, but then turning around and not respecting the fact that many users do not want to participate in your rainbow theme. You need to give us the choice to opt in, not the choice to opt out! I’m extremely disturbed by such a blatant dismissal of the FACT that many people are not thrilled with this decision.

I see you say it is a polarizing issue…then respect that your customers can dissagree with you on a political issue. By forcing them in the manner to “participate” in your celebration you are behaving as badly as the worst offenders of the 20th Century…Mao, Lenin, Hitler…I have spent years living under a communist dictatorship. It is a sad day that American Businesses begin to act in such a manner that they do not respect freedom, but call anyone that disagrees with them a hater. Shame on you wordpress. You will never get another dime from me.

Thanks for speaking up Sylvia. I feel very marginalized and can’t concentrate on blogging. The rainbow banner is a distraction.

I thank Sylvia for expressing so well. I tryed to express in other topics but I couldn’t do it so well (my language is not english) but, over of that, wordpress just closed topics trasmitting the idea (comproved by this facts) that members just can not express even if they do it with respect.

I don’t think WordPress cares. They seem to close down discussion forums pertaining to this issue. This is the wave of the future–tolerance only for issues that Word Press approves of. Am I in North Korea??

The banner is not permanent (nor is it publicly viewable to site visitors) and will be removed eventually. If you would like, you can remove it temporarily from your own view using the method discussed here:
