    Hello

Im contacting you with regard to a new blog I’ve just started to manage as part of a freelance project. The web address is https://raiseconsulting.wordpress.com/

We are trying to gain accesss to the site but we dont know who set this up initially. The owner can provide a domain name email for the company but we’ve all tested the email and it doesent seem to be affiliated with this blog and hes not sure what other email address he could have used.

We basically just want to either gain access or close the blog down and start a fresh – can someone please advise what to do. In a nutshell we have no email address, username, passwords or verifications to provide to access the account through the ways suggested on the account recovery form..

    Help…

    Rebecca

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello I have a few queries regarding this thread I started and questions I’d like answering with regard to thread itself.

Firstly – can I have the thread removed as it automatically populated the bottom of the message with a link to a company unaffiliated with where I work
…. see where it mentions ‘The blog I need help with is pellandbales.wordpress.com.’

The thread and query is actually about Raise WordPress here
    https://raiseconsulting.wordpress.com/

We are trying to gain accesss to the site but we dont know who set this up initially. The owner can provide a domain name email for the company but we’ve all tested the email and it doesent seem to be affiliated with this blog and hes not sure what other email address he could have used.

We basically just want to either gain access or close the blog down and start a fresh – can someone please advise what to do. In a nutshell we have no email address, username, passwords or verifications to provide to access the account through the ways suggested on the account recovery form..

Here is the original thread here

We are trying to gain accesss to the site but we dont know who set this up initially.

Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.

You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard. The Admin login link to the dashboard for every blog hosted by wordpress.COM is:

    http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

    * You will have to replace “name_of_blog” with the actual blog’s name in that URL.

If the log-in information is lost they need to visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

If you do not have the required access and someone else registered the site you need to contact the person who registered the account and site under it and have them transfer the sites to your username account by using this process. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

If you check each and every possible email address and account and are not successful gaining access to the blog(s) then you must complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff, and provide proof ownership, so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums, which are available to everyone with internet access.

Support Staff cannot breach the privacy policy and provide the log-in information. You have to provide proof ownership to Account Recovery Staff to gain access https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/

    Thanks for response .

I’ve tried filling in the account recovery form here but it wont let me submit as I cant provide any proof of ownership (not a Transaction ID, ACTIVATION URL OR 2 factor authentication code)

Nor can we figure out who first set it up or know the username or password.

So what is the next step – we have proof that we own raise consulting – and have email addresses with raiseconsulting domain – and have extra evidence that the first post of the raise consulting blog has also been posted by the owner of raise a while back on his own blog (ps it’s defitnitely not him who set the blog up)

Is there anyone we can email direct to sort this out like a senior moderator or someone at wordpress? Im not seeing any obvious solutions at present and not sure what our next step is. Can you advise?

    Kind Regards

    Rebecca

You have already posted into two threads and have Support Staff attention in the other one.

As I said above Support Staff cannot breach the privacy policy and provide the log-in information. You have to provide proof ownership to Account Recovery Staff to gain access https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/ to any site.

    Hi Timethief

I understand that. However my question to you is if I cant provide the information requested on the account recovery form such as a transaction ID, activation url or key, or authentication code or an email address that was registered then what are we meant to send you as proof that we own the blog?

Do you see where I’m coming from?

    Hi timethief,

I also asked Darnell to remove this thread here > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/raise-consulting-site?replies=1

… as it automatically populated the first post with a link at the bottom to an old company that I used to work for that I no longer work for now so it needs to be removed. (see where it says The blog I need help with is pellandbales.wordpress.com – this needs removing as soon as possible)

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi Timethief

Please can you provide a managers or senior support staff where I can escalate these queries above if you cant answer or action this yourself? I really need to understand where we stand moving forward with my queries above.

    Thanks

    Rebecca

There is no ability to escalate an Account Recovery issue by asking to contact Support Staff. However, Support Staff are aware of this thread and the others and they will answer it in order of the other threads they have to respond to.

    Hi there,

Deleted the link in the original post for you.

What is the email address that the owner is claiming is attached the account? I will be the only one that can see the email, so feel free to share in the post.

As @Timethief mentioned, If you aren’t able to provide an email from the email address with which the blog was registered, a PayPal transaction ID, or the original activation link, I’m afraid we won’t be able to help you recover the account.

We have a strict policy in place to protect our users from third parties who might try to use our support system to gain access to other users’ accounts.

However I would again be happy to set it to private for you so search engines and users can’t access it – just let me know.

Let me know if you have any other questions

    Thanks,

Let me know – if it is indeed the email attached to the account, I contact that email from this end. All I would need is a reply to confirm ownership and I can assist you in regaining access.

    Thanks!
