Random Blog arrow button not very random

  Has anyone else found that the arrow button to the right of “Press This” that takes you a “random” blog, is not that random?

  After about a dozen blogs it then went back to 3 blogs that it had previously “randomly” served up.

  3,039,246 blogs and you can’t come up with a random number generator that will cover them in a way that that wont repeat in a reasonable measurement period? The chances of repeating 3 genuinly randomly from such a large pool in such a small sample are… unlikely.

  It happens to me all the time. I can click 10 times and see 4 repeats. I love the feature for finding good blogs but I do wish it were more random.

  Agreed. I met Matt at a blogging conference in February and he was totally shocked that I use the feature. I don’t think staff is aware that it’s popular, so there’s no particular reason to fix it. If you contact staff via the Support button on your dashboard Monday and let them know about this, that might put it on the list for improving.
