Random Box Appearing Before Photo In A Bulleted List
-
Hello,
I’ve just published a post called “Life Lessons [Part III], and at the bottom of the list just before a picture of an ice cream sundae there is a big yellow box that has appeared. When I go to edit it, it’s not there. I would like to delete this box…how do I do that?
Thanks so much,
HannahThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Your theme is a premium theme and read-access to the premium themes forum is now open to all users so you can search to see if your question has been previously asked and answered there. The premium theme forums are at http://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/ with separate sections for each theme.
If you are not successful when searching there is a link for the specific Premium Theme support forum for your theme under Appearance -> Themes in your blog’s Dashboard, but do note that the premium theme must be active and you must be signed in as the user who purchased it in order to see it and post to it.

Okay thanks! I don’t see anyone with a similar issue but I will try asking on the Just Desserts specific forum.

Switch the editor to “Text” (=code) and delete this (after “You eat with your eyes first”):
<div id='' class='presentation presentation-inline' style='height: ; width: ;'> <div class='presentation-content'></div> </div> <p> -
I can see the problem is in your unordered list:
<ul> <li>A user-friendly definition of an introvert [who isn’t also shy by default]: an individual who gains energy by being alone and loses it by socializing.</li> <li>College is probably the last time you’ll be surrounded by so many people your own age in such close proximity.</li> <li>Habits have a habit of sneaking up and sticking around.</li> <li>Even the cover models wish they could look like themselves.</li> <li>You eat with your eyes first <div id='' class='presentation presentation-inline' style='height: ; width: ;'> <div class='presentation-content'></div> </div> <p>.</li> </ul>You have inserted a div tag of something which must be specific to your theme.

I doubt it’s something specific to the theme: WP normally doesn’t use single quotes for classes. Smells more like copypasting from another source to me (but I could be wrong: it might be due to a plugin or other code written by someone else and incorporated in the theme). -
I did copy paste from Microsoft Word…but even when I delete the entire part that is inconsistent and re-type it in WordPress, the yellow box continues to show up the post viewable to everyone (the published version).

Justpi…I tried to do as you suggested but this is what appears for me after “You eat with your eyes first.”
<li>You eat with your eyes first [presentation matters].</li> <a href="http://allpurposeandsemisweet.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/photo-copy-39.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2313" alt="photo copy 3" src="http://allpurposeandsemisweet.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/photo-copy-39.jpg" width="640" height="640" /></a> <ul> <li>Just because you’ve gone and snagged yourself a keeper doesn't mean you should leave your best friends high and dry.</li> </ul>(edited by tess to add the backticks to allow code to show)
-
1) To display code correctly here, you need to enclose it in backticks (see the note on “allowed markup”).
2) What is this?
[presentation matters]
This isn’t present in the sourcecode of your post, so maybe it’s a shortcode specific to the theme you’re using. Delete it, or (if it’s an actual phrase you want) turn the brackets to parentheses. -
All fixed! Thanks so much for your help everyone…Next time I won’t copy and paste from Word.
-
You’re welcome.
Pasting from Word into the Visual editor introduces wrong code. When you need to paste, paste into the Text editor.
