Random invitations to ‘become an editor’

    I have recently started to receive random invitations ‘to become an editor’ of WordPress sites that I do not know and have no connection with. I have not published anything here for years and am at a loss to understand where the invitations are coming from. Obviously I can simply mark them as spam, but have I been hacked? Should I be concerned?

    Correct account: Yes

    Hi there, thanks for posting. This is the second time in the last few days that someone has posted about this here in our forums, so I’ve flagged this thread for Staff attention in case they want to investigate further.

    If these notifications come by email, I’d be cautious about marking them as spam in your email program for possibly blocking legitimate emails coming from WordPress.com

    Regardless, you are under no obligation to accept that invitation. You can simply ignore the invite to contribute that you received.
