random number in email plugins

  An email will be sent to the customer when the customer fills up the form for Request for quote. However, I would like to add a random Quote Number in the email body like “Your request number is <<any random number>>. Kindly refer for future correspondences”

  Can you please help on how this can be done? Your suggestions will be highly solicited. Thanks
