'Rate this' stars missing on posts

    Hi all! I’ve recently noticed that the ‘Rate this’ stars at the end of each blog post on my site appear to have disappeared/stopped showing. Has anyone else had this problem, or have any idea how I can fix it? Thanks in advance!

    I can confirm they’re also not working on my end. The HTML element that contains the ratings is there, but it’s completely empty, and I see an error in the JavaScript console in my browser.

    I have no idea what’s causing it, though – I set up my test site with the same settings and theme as yours, and there the ratings work fine.

    I’ve asked the Crowdsignal team to take a look in case they have a better idea what’s going on here. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear back from them, but given the New Year’s weekend that’s approaching that might not be until next week.

  • Looks like today’s your lucky day: a developer was on hand to take a look, and they were able to fix the issue on your site so the ratings are working again.

    UPDATE: I’m terribly sorry to bother you Kokkieh (Happy New Year!), but the problem appears to have returned – the ‘Rate this’ stars are missing again on my blog! :-(

    Please advise?

    Ratings stopped showing up on my WordPress.com blog since the update to WordPress 5.9.

    I can see ratings on all your recent posts, both on the posts page and the single-post view:

    Can you check if viewing your site in another browser/incognito, or clearing the browser cache make any difference?

    If not, please create a new thread so we can troubleshoot this separately, as I don’t think it’s related (at least not directly) to the issue in this thread.

    Thank you, @Kokkieh, the problem happened in Microsoft Edge on Windows 11 on desktop, I tried it in Brave Browser on Android & did not have that problem, and so in Microsoft Edge I changed the Tracking Prevention setting from Strict back to Balanced & that fixed the problem.
