Re-assigning the permalink after page is deleted
-
Hi
How do I assign an existing permalink to a new page after related old page has been deleted?
eg: I would like to delete http://www.xyz.com/test page. Then create a new page and give it the same, http://www.xyz.com/test.When I tried, it adds ‘-2’ in the end. Appreciate your response.
Kind regards

Hi
Thanks for the quick response. I didn’t delete the previous page by the way. It has been somehow gone from my pages in WordPress. It is not even found under ‘Trash’.
Now I want recreate the same page and assign the same Permalink. -

You have several options to fix that,
However
The site you are asking about does not seem to be hosted on WordPress.COM so you need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using.
This site is for support of sites hosted on WordPress.COM. You should address your questions to WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using: http://wordpress.org/support/
The forum at WordPress.ORG is not connected to WordPress.COM so you will need to open an account at .ORG if you do not already have one. You may use the same email at WordPress.ORG as you do at WordPress.COM.

Hi
You are correct. This site is not hosted with wordpress.com. My apologies for posting in the wrong site. I wasn’t aware of it.
Appreciate all your explanations and suggestions.
Bye for now.
