Re-blogging to self hosted WordPress sites

  Is re-blogging from WordPress.com hosted blogs (or those which I add to my Reader), to my self hosted WordPress blog available?

  Or is there any plug-in that might help?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  As self hosted WordPress.ORG sites are not a part of the WordPress.COM hosted blogs community you will have to do things manually. Use a direct quite and properly backlink to the source in a new post of your own. To add value to that post I suggest that you include relevant and meaningful information of your own in it.

  We provide support here only for WordPress.COM hosted blogs. That site is not hosted by wordpress.COM and you are posting to the wrong support forum to ask about WordPress.ORG plugins. We cannot help with that.

  WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums.   If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.

  True, that .com and .org are separate and although my blog is self hosted (in which case I should be looking to post on .org forums), the product I need help on is the Reader (which is on .com).

  I can manage my WP installs from WordPress.com using the Jetpack modules. This is great.

  What is all the more awesome is that I can add non WP.com sites to this Reader as well. This feature alone makes it a strong contender for a feed reader (I still miss Google Reader!!).

  Directly quoting is not as much interest to me as quoting it as a re-blog and also providing my opinions on the same. I could (and this is what I currently do), copy-paste the excerpt manually and craft the quotations on my self hosted blog.

  However, the re-blog option pretty much does this and does this even better than the Press This tool available in the self hosted system.

  • Since, I can add posts on my self-hosted blog using WordPress.com
  • And I can re-blog using WordPress.com Reader

  My question (and this is for the WordPress.com Reader feature) is why can’t I re-blog to self hosted WordPress sites.
