Re-designing an existing wordpress site.

    What would be the easiest way to redesign a WordPress site with a new theme then the current live site, while leaving the old site live at the same time? Can this be achieved with a staging site if I’m changing themes?

    To clarify, you have an existing site with another provider, and you are trying to move content to your WordPress.com account so you can handle the redesign here?

    If so what you can do is import your content to leighanne866928227.wordpress.com by following the steps here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-a-sites-content/

    This will allow you to import your pages, blog posts, and uploaded media (but not your current theme and design) so you can pick a new theme on leighanne866928227.wordpress.com and experiment to your heart’s content, while still keeping your other site online.

    Once you are happy with the design of leighanne866928227.wordpress.com, as the last step you can “launch” this site to replace your existing one by transferring your domain to us. This will seamlessly replace the old site with the new one (at the same URL)
