Re-direct on my published post

  I have a free account on WP. If I change slugs on my published posts, how can I ensure they are re-directed?

  Hi there,

  This is something that’s built into the WordPress software itself – when you change the publication date or URL slug of an existing post, WordPress will always try to redirect it to the correct post.

  However, the operative word is “try”. This doesn’t always work, and aside from using a redirection plugin where you manually add a redirect for each link you modify, there’s no way to guarantee this.

  The better option is to make sure you have the correct slug specified before you publish a post.
