Re-Directing Domain Names
-
My domain is DannyPress.org, I would like to use this domain on a different blog I have that isn’t a Wordpess.com blog. How can i re-direct the domain to my other blog?
-
You have to reverse the domain mapping. Just follow the domain mapping instructions in reverse order.

Thanks, but I want to switch it to blogger, which doesnt use Name Servers, it uses CNAME to map domains (ghs.google.com), but I can’t find anywhere in the domain manager to enter a CNAME.
-
Well, that would have been useful to know at the beginning! Did you purchase your domain through wordpress.COM? If so, I *think* you have to transfer the domain to another host. Try searching the forums on CNAME.
-
lol, sorry about that, and yes i did purchase it through wordpress.com. I’ll give that a try.

I couldn’t find anything that would help me in the forums, will is cost me to transfer my domain?
-
I found this https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/unable-to-add-cname-on-domain-registered-via-wordpress?replies=5#post-183714 which says that there is no CNAME in the wordpress.COM purchased domains.
Here is the FAQ on domains and what needs to be done to transfer it to another host http://faq.wordpress.com/2008/07/09/domain-management/
I don’t know what other hosts charge for transferring domains. Perhaps someone else can weigh in on that part. I do know that the domain has to be more than 60 days old before you can transfer it.
