  I have purchased a domain on Namecheap and I wanted to map it on WordPress, but when I go to do so, I am being taken to checkout where there is a premium plan for me to buy. Why do I have pay for something I don’t want to just to do domain mapping?

  Hi there,

  To clarify, it is not possible to map a domain unless you have first upgraded to one of the plans you see here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

  There is not an option to purchase just a domain mapping upgrade (outside of a plan) but you do not have to use the Premium plan. If you wish, you can upgrade to our cheapest plan, WordPress.com Personal, which also includes domain mapping.
