re: Elementor (plugin) – Header, Footer and Blocks

    This plugin was breaking my WP site previously. It’s turned out to be a low memory limit issue (Brainstorm Force contacted me). They have given me these instructions, but I do not know how to configure this. Do I need to get into Terminal? (I’m on MacOs)
    ‘You would need to edit the wp-config.php file to increase the WordPress memory limit.

    Add this to the top, before the line that says, “/* That’s all, stop editing! Happy publishing. */”:

    define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘512M’);

    Verify the same under Elementor’s System Information if the value is updated, if not you will need to update the Memory limit using different methods mentioned here in our knowledge article ‘

    Thanks!

  • Hello, I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your website. However, your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with Hostgator.

    To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

    WordPress.org has complete documentation for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress.org at https://wordpress.org/support/ and support at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

    And, you can find Elementor’s support at https://elementor.com/support/ and increase your Hostgator server’s memory limit by following their steps at https://www.hostgator.com/help/article/php-memory-limit-error
