re: Finding Stylesheet Editor

    Hi there,

I have set up a blog and according to my helpful tips magazine here I should be able to open an editor function in the appearance menu wherein I can access the stylesheet.css, to tweak body font, stacks alignemnt etc,

In my appearance menu I have: Themes, Widgets, Menu, Theme Options, Background, Header, Custom Design, Mobile, iPad,

But no editor? Has there been an upgrade in the newer WordPress versions that don’t allow the editor, my guess is the Custom Design offering has replaced this and it now costs to tweak Site Titles, Headings etc?? Am I right?

Any help much appreciated, i’m a novice,

    Have I installed it wrong?

Are you an Admin of the blog in question? Did you purchase an annually renewable custom design upgrade? If you do then Appearance > Custom Design is what you are looking for.

I also note the you have a static page for “Sponsors”. No blogger initiated advertising, retailing or reselling the work created or services provided by anyone other than yourself is allowed on free hosted WordPress.com blogs. The advertising exceptions noted in support documentation are for high traffic blogs that qualify for and are accepted into the Ad Control program which will soon be replaced wit WordAds, and for extremely high traffic blogs that qualify and are accepted into the paid VIP hosting program.

    Hi timethief,

Firstly thanks for your input, secondly I am new to all this blogging and website design, my intention is to move the above onto a self hosted site,

Yes I am admin for the site, it’s for my colleague and friend,

WordPress states in types of blogs:

Sports: We’ve got teams, athletes, and fans using blogs to express and share their passion for various sports

Most athletes have some sponsors, I am not looking to sell anything, make any offers, host ad’s but would like to simply have a link to the people who help me out and sponsor me, am I contriving rules?

If so then I need to move this onto a self hosted and it will all be ok to give supporters a plug? Forgive the naievity but just learning all this, plan was to get a few things in order, nice theme together and move across to self-hosted??!

I didn’t purchase the Custom Design header, just learning and working off a book which directed me to a theme editor I can’t find wanted to try out tweaking a few things?!?

    Thanks

You should contact staff directly and ask if what you have in mind is allowed; we volunteers can’t really make that call. On your Dashboard you can find a Help button, and that will go directly to staff.

And as for theme editing, you can’t really do that here. You can tinker with the CSS, but not php or anything. If you want to do theme editing, you want WordPress.ORG instead.
