    I took the name, which is also my legal business name in my country in 2011 which is ‘hiddenname’. When I checked google, a similar name took it. http://www.hiddenname.com, a slimming company. Currently, I have http://hiddenname.wordpress.com. This is unfair. I saw that they took it around 2015. I would like to pay to get http://www.hiddenname.com to expand my business but now I could not do it, instead wordpress offered http://www.hiddenname.me. This is really confusing. Please help me. (Hiddenname is not the real company. I would like to protect my identity because I am afraid it may get unwanted attention if its presented in the forum.) Thank you.

    Hi there,

    Unfortunately, even though you have ownership to hiddenname.wordpress.com, it does not give you immediate ownership over the custom domain hiddenname.com. since that domain needs to be purchased in addition to the registration of the WordPress.com URL.

    You can try to find out who currently owns the domain and purchase it from them, but it may come at a steep price. since they rightfully own the domain.

    I would suggest to possibly registering hiddenname.org (assuming that it is still available) since it is a business and .org TLDs are usually used with companies and businesses.
