Re-ordering an existing blog
-
I have done a travel blog for a recent holiday and realised I had missed a day in the middle of the blog. I wrote a post for that day but it is not in the order I want it to be. How do I reorder a blog that is already published please?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello!
There’s a number of ways to do that, and this guide goes into details: https://en.support.wordpress.com/show-your-posts-in-chronological-order/
I hope that helps, and let me know if you have any other questions!

Alter the Publish Date
Manually adjust the publish date on your posts before you publish them to set the order you want them to display. If your posts have already been published, you can edit them and adjust the publish date. This option might be fine if you don’t have large amount of already-published posts. Otherwise, one of the other options listed is likely going to be an easier option for you.

Thanks a lot joerepublic, I altered the publish dates manually to the actual dates we were there and it has worked a treat. There were only 32 entries in total and a number of them were correct anyway so it didn’t take too long. Thanks once again for your help. I just wish WordPress put them in date first rather than last date first.

Hi travelstotts,
By default, posts are designed to display in reverse chronological order (from newest to oldest). However, sometimes there are reasons why you might want to reverse that and display your posts in chronological order (from oldest to newest).
This article goes over several options to order your posts chronologically: https://en.support.wordpress.com/show-your-posts-in-chronological-order/

Thanks ellybiddle and this may sound stupid but I am a new user so where do I find the URL so I can alter it to show oldest first. I thought I had found it in settings but now I can’t seem to find it again. Thanks!

Hi ellybiddle,
Perhaps I am a bit stupid but I can’t find where to amend the URL to change to ascending order from within the blog. Help please!
If I type the change in Safari by adding the /2017/05/?order=asc it works perfectly but it doesn’t change the blog from within the app which still shows descending order. -
There isn’t anywhere to change this in your dashboard. You can only change the order by manually adding ?order=asc onto the end of the URL.
For example, if you go to https://travelstotts.wordpress.com/ you’ll see your posts in reverse chronological order.
If you go to https://travelstotts.wordpress.com/?order=asc you’ll see your posts in chronological order, with the oldest post first.
You could add a menu with a link to https://travelstotts.wordpress.com/?order=asc. When someone clicks that link they’ll see the oldest posts first.
You can learn more about custom menus here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
