Hi,
There are several options outlined in the Show your Posts in Chronological Order support page, but on the “Alter the Publish Date” option actually involves changing the order of posts in the posts page.

Thank you, but this is not really what Im looking for. Im looking for a basic template that is more of a website than a blog – so I can have the front page static and the subsequent posts chronological?Any suggestions how i can do this

You’re welcome. I meant to say “but only the “Alter the Publish Date” option actually involves changing the order of posts in the posts page.

I believe all WordPress.com themes display the posts page on the front page by default. However, you can easily assign a static page as the front page instead. See the Set a Static “Home” Page (Front Page) support page for instructions. When you assign a static page as your front page, you should also assign another static page as your posts page.

As far as I know, there are no themes that display, by default, posts in chronological order on the posts page.
