re-parent categories?

  I have a feeling this answer is out there but I just don’t know how to phrase my search. I’m brand new to wordpress and have imported a blog with lots of “labels” … the import did fine, but now, with this awesome parent-category capability of wordpress – I’d like to make most of those old labels into children categories of a few new parent categories – is there a way to do that, without recreating them all?

  It has to be done manually, one by one. Go to Manage > Categories. Click the category you want to make a child category and assign the parent.

  thanks – I hadn’t clicked the categories – afaik, blogger just gives you the posts with that label, when you click the label so I was thinking I’d have to delete, retype and them all and reassign posts!
