re-registering a past blog

    Greetings!

    I’ve just created an account and I’m excited to get started using WordPress. Unfortunately, the blog name I wanted to register has already been taken. When I attempt to visit the blog it tells me that it’s no longer available and that the “authors have deleted this site.”

    Is it possible for me to resurrect the blog title as my own?

    It is not possible to re-use a deleted URL but you can register a different URL and use whatever you like as the actual name of the blog. It’s best to have them the same, though, so you don’t confuse people. You can also register a filler URL, like whatever.wordpress.com and then for $18 a year upgrade to whatever.com with the custom domain and mapping upgrades.
