Re-sizing an image in the post

I used to be able to upload a picture file to my post and then click a corner of it and drag it larger or smaller to resize it. Now I can’t do it. I understand that I can click that little icon in the picture and specify how I want to re-size the picture, but it is far far easier to just drag the corners of the picture to the exact size I want.

Is there a way to enable that as an option again? I really miss it.

If you are using Firefox, you can still drag the images to resize by using the handles at the corners. Click on the image, the handles will appear, drag a corner.

If you are using Safari, the handles will not appear. Don’t know why, they just won’t. In that case, click on the image, then click on the “edit image icon that will appear in the upper left of the image, then you can downsize or upsize the image by percentages by clicking on one of the selections to the left of the image under “size.”

I don’t know about Internet Exploder, or Chrome, or any of the other browsers.

Thank you so much!!!! Now I am learning that Safari Beta 4 and Firefox indeed have different capabilities. I love Safari Beta 4 because of the new feature of the Top Pages, and it has both a minus and a plus in my Blogger personal blog.

I wonder how many other things I will learn about Safari Beta 4 and Firefox.

I can see that, depending on which blog platform I am on, I will have to switch browsers.

I really appreciate your input on this —— I was using Firefox until about two weeks ago when I downloaded Safari Beta 4.

P.S…. I do not want to work with Internet Explorer, given all of the bad comments I have read about it.

Maybe I ought to add some information which might help others:

With Safari Beta 4, for WordPress and Blogger, there is an EDIT link right on the Home Page so I do not have to click to Dashboard.

With Firefox, there is no EDIT link on the Home page so I do have to click to Dashboard to edit the post.

With Safari Beta 4, on my Blogger blog, when I am editing in the Layout/Fonts and Colors, the changes I make do not show on the page so I cannot see the effects of whatever I am changing/editing.

With Firefox on my Blogger blog, whatever I do in the Layout/Fonts and Colors is shown on that page so I know exactly how the change will look.

This makes it a juggling act for me with my one blog on WordPress and the other personal blog on Blogger.

There are a few issues with Safari (all involving the editor) and I’ve communicated all of them to wordpress. The editor is a third-party thing, so wordpress does not have much control over it and I’m hoping that the upcoming 2.8 wordpress upgrade will take care of the majority of the issues.

One thing you should be aware of is that grabbing the handles and resizing the image will result in lower quality because at that point, the display of the image is left up entirely to the browser to resize the image, and browsers do a really poor job. They do absolutely no resampling, they just resize.

Hey……… thank you for telling me that. so there really is a reason and a difference……. Hmmm. A good thing to remember.
