RE: Themes Footer
-
How do I remove the footer from a theme template? I see that I can change/edit the header, but not the footer Please help. Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

May I remove credit links such as ‘Blog at WordPress.com’, theme, font, or toolbar links?
All WordPress.com bloggers are required to maintain the credit links, even our VIP bloggers. Please do not hide the footer credits or the toolbar with CSS after purchasing a Custom Design upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions -
thanks so much timethief, although i don’t know if i really like the policy from an intellectual property perspective.
-
I’m sorry but the bottom line is that you did not design the theme and you are not hosting it on your own server.
-
BTW you can place a copyright notice in a text widget and use position absolute to position it so it appears in the footer area.
-
yes thanks for the explanation. i appreciate your help :) as a future lawyer, i’m not sure i like the intellectual property policy, and just cancelled my subscription.
-
I’m a paralegal and your concern is IMHO misplaced as this isn’t as copyright issue at all. You own your content and the ToS and all policies under it make that clear.
WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrades, you can request a refund yourself directly from the Store section of your Dashboard

If applicable also see http://en.support.wordpress.com/bundles/#canceling-a-bundle
Note: If you are still seeking a refund, it takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received. -
timethief, thanks for the explanation and again for all your help. you’re awesome. happy new year!
