re-use deleted site url

  I deleted my site to start over, but now i can’t use the same url, it says it is already in use.
  As i was the owner of that wordpress url, is there a way to recover?

  Blog addresses (aka urls) are not recyclable. Here is why: https://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  I saw that, but i hoped that only applied for non owners that wanted to use a registered but unused URL :-(
