re-use my domain – (email visible only to moderators and staff)

Hi, I created (email visible only to moderators and staff) and deleted it. Wi would like to reanimate that blog now – write a new one I mean but with that exact address. How do I do that?

You did not create an email address here at WordPress.Com. You may have created a .wordpress.com blog address, but if so then the URL does not contain an @ symbol as that applies only to email addresses.

I’m sorry but we cannot provide accurate answers to any blogger who fails to provide the exact URL starting with http:// for the exact blog they refer to so we can verify where it is hosted. Please do that now.

    soniasarina.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this site.

If that is the site you refer to then you ignored all the warnings and it’s too late now. You cannot register any deleted blog URL. To prevent accidental or inadvertent deletion of blogs, there are multiple warnings given that blog deletion is permanent and irreversible. Lastly, a verification link is sent in an email and it must be clicked to delete a blog. If clicking that link does not work then copy and paste it into your upper browser window and click. Once the verification link for deletion is clicked the blog URL is forever gone, gone, gone.

Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.

You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.

@timethief – thank you… well I ignored all the warnings then (which I don’t remember but must have done) and it’s gone gone gone.. I have registered soniasarina.com – so I will try the domain-mapping – thanks for all the info. I think I started wordpress and thought it was too complicated and deleted it again and now I want to give it a new try… :-) Thanks a lot for your answer!

    oh and LOVE your blog!

    I have registered soniasarina.com – so I will try the domain-mapping

If you would like to map to a domain that you own from your wordpress.COM blog you will first need to set up domain mapping.

WordPress.com does not accept domain transfers but mapping an existing domain is possible. Domain mapping of an existing domain URL that you already own and purchased elsewhere is not done free of charge. You will have to renew the domain name purchase where you made it and the domain mapping purchase here every year.

Mapping an existing domain costs $13. annually. In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from and it does not matter what that underlying .wordpress.com URL is.It does not have to match the domain URL.

If you have registered a .wordpress.com blog you log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchase a domain name by purchasing an annually renewable domain mapping upgrade for the blog.

    Important Notes Before Upgrading http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#important-notes-before-upgrading

In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from, and the domain name you desire must be available for purchase, or you must already own the domain URL.

You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard at > Store > My Upgrades to purchase upgrades for the blog.

If you own a domain then see here for mapping an existing domain that you already own http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades is where you do the primary blog set up knowing it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

P.S. You are welcome and best wishes.
