Re-use of my former blog url

  Dear WordPress support!
  Could I re-claim a former used blog url?

  I would like to use hsvgorinchem.wordpress.com again! Is this possible?

  I’ve seen the regulations on this, but could you consider this request?
  I have used this url myself in the past.

  I’m sorry but the answer is “no”. To delete a blog takes bypassing 3 warnings that blog deletion is irreversible and then clicking a confirmation link in an email for good reason ie. deleted blog URLs are not recycled.

  You can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

  Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

  @Timethief: Thanks for the answer. This post helped me answer another question I had. It wasn’t the answer I was hoping for — but at least now I know.

  I have another question. I have still saved “acrashcourseinself.wordpress.com.” I would like to use that site name again but can’t figure out how to. My current blog name is “disabledseekingmymuchness.wordpress.com” and I’d like to get the content from that one over to “acrashcourseinself.”

  Do you happen to know if this is possible or could you direct me to the help guide that would explain? I’ve tried several key word searches but haven’t found the right answer yet.

  @crashcourseinself – If the site at disabledseekingmymuchness.wordpress.com is active, you can export the content from there to acrashcourseinself.wordpress.com following the instructions for moving a blog found here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/ Use the Export/Import instructions since you already own both blog URLs.

  Also your post at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/delete-inactive-blogs-1?replies=1#post-1147899 has been tagged by another volunteer for Staff assistance. If you no longer want your site deleted, you should update that post accordingly ASAP.

  Thank you, @JustJennifer. I appreciate your help. I’m disappointed that in trying to fix it on my own, I just made it worse…but, live and learn.

  On the other thread, I did reply on it with another question.

  “I have disabledseekingmymuchness and I would like to move it to acrashcourseinself which I have saved. Can you advise me as to how I can change disabledseekingmymuchness over to acrashcourseinself without repeating the same problem?”

  I will close this thread if I can rather than have two open but if you’re able to answer the question, I would appreciate it. Thank you much.
