Re-Use URL
-
I previously had a blog at the URL jhshaw44.wordpress.com but deleted the site. I thought when I deleted the site, I would be able to re-use the URL for a new site. However, when I go to register, it is not available. I need help getting that URL reinstated so I can create a new blog at that site. Thanks!

Too bad you ignored the warnings. Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made except for the one stated at http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/.
You can register another .wordpress.com URL and then purchase an upgrade plan so you can map to an existing domain.
Register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Purchase a domain mapping upgrade knowing it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.

Hey! As it turns out, once a website is deleted, the URL becomes unavailable moving forward. As you’ll see in this article, there are occasions where the URL can be re-used if its been over two years since the site’s deletion. Hope that helps you out!
