Re-using an email address

    I can’t use the email address from a deleted site. It is 30 days ago now. Help

    If you also wish to delete that user account, you will need to initiate the account closure process on your own. This can be done by logging into that account and following the steps outlined in the account closure process. Unfortunately, we are unable to perform this action for you.

    Please keep in mind that closing your account will result in the permanent deletion of your username, all associated WordPress.com sites, and their contents. After a few weeks, this data will be completely removed from WordPress.com’s servers, and the process cannot be reversed. Therefore, it’s crucial to ensure that you genuinely want to cancel your entire WordPress.com presence before proceeding.

    Then, you would need to wait an additional 30 days for that account to be purged from our system before you can use that email for your @rucksackrosie account.

    Hi, I think the user account was attached to two sites – rucksackrosie (this one) and diverse design (I can’t remember the user name) so I don’t want to affect my blog

    I can see that the other user is registered as a user on your website “rucksackrosie.wordpress.com”. As the owner and administrator of the site, you can simply remove them as a user while you’re still logged in as @rucksackrosie.

    After that, you can log out and log back in using the account associated with the Gmail address used to create the user account. This way, you can safely delete the user account without impacting your website.

    Hi, I have deleted the user associated with my old website in users. I logged out shut the browser and logged in again, but when I tried to update the email address in account settings, it still says that email is being used. Maybe I am just being stupid.

    Yes, you still need to wait 30 days for the user account to be purged then you can use that email. I mentioned it upthread, but there was a lot of information to sort through, so you’re not being stupid – we just gave you a lot of information. :)
