Re: website

Hi, I recently tried to change my hosting plan to Siteground but am extremely disappointed with the service they provide.
They no longer offer a professional migration service and expect customers to do the job of transferring the website.
They initially asked me to provide my admin login details so they could migrate my WordPress website, http://www.topclasstuition.co.uk, which I did.
They told me they successfully migrated my website to them but then gave me a list of instructions to secure the migration.
Despite following the instructions carefully, the process was hampered at the first hurdle. As the advisor just kept asking me to repeat the same ineffective action, I asked for the problem to be escalated but she refused to do this.
I have just tried to cancel the hosting plan but a message says if I do this, the website will be deleted.
I checked with my current host and they assured me the website is still safe with them. The domain provider, GoDaddy said that my website is still with my current host, so should I just ignore the message that my website will be deleted if I cancel the plan with Siteground? ThanksWP.com: Yes

Hi there,
I think it may help if I clarify up front that we are a separate provider from Siteground (we both offer WordPress sites to the public) so we’re not able to help directly with your siteground migration.
If I can ask, what is prompting you to move from your current host? You appear to be hosted with Butternut Web currently, they are the designers of your site? By the way, Totoro had an excellent time when they last visited Cardiff, and would very much like to go back. :)
The domain provider, GoDaddy said that my website is still with my current host, so should I just ignore the message that my website will be deleted if I cancel the plan with Siteground? Thanks
I would agree with your current provider (based on what we see of your current domain settings) that your site is still hosted with them and has not actually moved. The error message you see on Siteground is likely related to the empty “pre-migration” site that is set up to receive the data from the transfer.
Also, as I mentioned previously, we are a fully managed hosting provider and use a custom server environment that is optimized for WordPress, provides built-in security and performance improvements, as well as in-house support for your site questions. You can learn more about the performance and security benefits of our managed hosting here: https://wordpress.com/hosting/
If you are looking for a safe home for your site (and one that offers easy to find in-house support) it would be hard to go wrong in moving to us. You can even use our plugin to move an exact copy of your existing topclasstuition.co.uk site with just a few clicks:
The Move to WordPress.com plugin allows you to start migrating a self-hosted WordPress site to WordPress.com directly from the self-hosted site. Prerequisites The Move to WordPress.com plugin installed on your self-hosted WordPress site. All incompatible plugins deactivated on the self-hosted site. ✅ There is no need to create a site on WordPress.com before you get starHope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
