I don’t mind the new layout/dashboard, just having a problem posting, it takes a while to bring up the new post page, yesterday it was taking around 20-30 minutes. Today it seems to be down to 5 minutes, so it’s improving. It is a free service after all folks, so bear with them, they must be working on the issue. I do like the idea of the video uploads now, previously we had to pay for that. Haven’t tried it yet, but will do once it’s up and away.

WTF!!!!
I’ve been putting together a presentation called Blogging for Beginners for over a week now and was going to use wordpress.com as an example for people to follow. i was 3/4 of the way through my work in progress powerpoint when I discovered options vanished on dashboard. I’ve been frantically trying to figure out wtf was going on with the tabs and where things have gone. Zhhhhhmmmm!!!! that is sound my presentation going down in flames! -
It took me 6 months to finally figure out WordPress (Give me a break, I’m old and forgetful). I finally get it so I can do a few things and now it’s all turned around and I’ve got to start remembering new stuff. Well, they say older people should exercise their brain so I guess that’s one good thing about it. My father had a great saying “If it works, don’t fix it.”

Count me out. I like the new layout and although I was surprised at first, –it might have been a good idea to let people know about it ahead of time– I have had no difficulties until now.

Terrible redesign. Completely counterintuitive and bug ridden, especially in posting images and embedding video.

Thanks, Sacred Path for telling us about refreshing the “Link” window. I had already resorted to HTML. (Like trading in your Mercedes for a mule….)
Yeah…I found the categories on the bottom. And I found the “Save” button. But why is it right exactly next to the “Delete” button??
(Sh*t happens, you know….I guess the WP folks are all nice and young ;-))
It really is difficult to see – especially the white-on-black across the top. And I have one user account with about 7 blogs. I can now only access 3 of them from the dashboard. The fourth is wiping out the buttons on the top right.
I havn’t tried to upload anything yet.
Where are the “options”? How would you edit your blog name or profile…?
Guess it’s time for a blogging break!

Posting images isn’t that diffucult. It shows you how at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=25657&replies=3. That thread tells you how to upload images from your desktop and from the internet. I think it also shows you how to upload images, I’m not sure.
The new dashboard isn’t so bad, it just needs some getting used to. Experiment with it and give WordPress a week to work out the bugs before complaining. -
Hate the new dashboard
1) Cannot mvoe widget from sidebar 2 to sidebar 1
2) Speecheck no working
3) Poor colors…looks like “Safe mode of Windows”
4) Media Library is good but should allow us to categorize pix by content
5) Save feature is still “a guessing game”. Did it save or not? let us do it once again to make sure it did. After saving sometimes there is an “WP orgasm” and that is how we know that it did save. Other times no sign at allBring old dashboard back

The new dashboard is great for selfhosted blogs using wordpress.org 2.55.
However, I really am not seeing anything new for my wordpress.com blog. it took me awhile to figure out how to upload .PDF files. PDF is under media uploads, now on the post editors toolbar.
its just a matter of getting use to the change, i guess.

BTW :
The wordpress dashboard is 500 times better than my old blogger dashboard… which crashed by weekly. So I won’t complain too much ;) -
Well, at least I am not the only one … Sigh. My images will not load; keep getting error message: HTTP error
-
I haven’t used the dashboard enough to make a negative evaluation, but from my limited experience, I am not enthused. The color choice is alright, but the font sizes a chosen strangely – too small in some places, and too large in others. The front page of the dashboard is an aesthetically dubious place.
I was initially irritated by the fact that the “Save” post button is not in the intuitive location below the post, but somewhere on the side. It actually took me some time to find it, and I felt dumb afterward.

<i>If the windows to add an image or add a link come up blank for you, then right click on the blank window and click on refresh, reload or reload frame (whatever it comes up as in your browser and the window will refresh and be fine.</i>Um, no. It doesn’t work. I’m using Firefox.
Reload — it stays blank. I’ve done it 5 times. Still blank.
I’m getting pissed.

How about giving us the option to revert to the “old look” of the dashboard if we want? Kind of like how you could do the Windows classic environment on ME or XP instead of the newer 3-D look. Or at least give us the ability to customize what we see on the new dashboard or how it’s arranged. Unless I’m missing something obvious…quite possible.

I am a photographer and cannot post my picts. It either will not post them or it will do it at the wrong size :( HELP!
-
wait a minute I’m confused… whats with this new dashboard? I can’t access my text widgets to edit them… what to do?
-
I like the new “look”, but I’m starting to hate the new lack of functionality. Writing new posts has become far more cumbersome. How do you link? Blockquote? Add a new Category? Do the keyboard shortcuts still work? Etc.
-
Maybe go back to the old till bugs and functionality have returned and can be tested :(
I know you all are probably working on this, but it is hard to wait. :(
