Reaction to New Dashboard 98% Negative

I like it. As with anything new, you can’t expect perfection right away. Besides this is a free service. I’m not about to slap a gift horse in the face. I don’t like learning new things when it comes to computers. But I’ll suck it up, learn it and then I’m sure I’ll get over anything that bugs me. If I was paying for something, I might have complaints :)

= But why is “Edit” right exactly next to the “Delete” button?? =

Yess… expect to receive tons of death threads for this gem.

What an incredibly strange thing to do, how does this make good business sense? To radically overhaul an existing system with no obvious warning and then for that overhaul to not work in the manner prescribed is laughable frankly…. What you have done here is proclaim a complete lack of respect for your clientele, something I never ever imagined myself saying about wordpress…… Has there been a radical change in personnel/staff or something also? A very worrying and disturbing development this is…
I only came on to see if I could move one widget into another sidebar and was met with an amazing problem, have been unable to even manage that so God alone knows what else is going to happen, am actually afraid to look!
Customers get no say here then anymore?

i am completely unhappy, i cannot go on with my news blog as i am running into pop-ups called script errors, and if i want to personalize my blog post i have to re-edit ALL of the html that dashboard 2.5 puts in replacing my original html coding. it is annoying, and it is hurting my viewership because it is such a hassle now trying to post a blog.

  • Unknown's avatar

it takes longer to post a decent looking blogpost now then it was with the original dashboard, this is giving me a fat headache.

    Do not like new dashboard.

Less is more when it comes to a dashboard interface, in my opinion. By keeping the dashboard simple, functional, reliable wordpress was putting out a great product. One that even the most challenged of us could manage.

Sure, make a change but give the user the option to “upgrade” to a more sophisticated design. I am guessing since they did not give this option it is not practical for technical reasons. I do believe wordpress just moved into the world of “just another blog.” I considered it something special before. When I came to wordpress it was because of its clean interface which produced clean blog products.

I cannot edit my comments anymore!

I think the problem is not so much that it is a new dashboard, but that it is a new dashboard that doesn’t work, for a good many of us! Who wouldn’t be frustrated???? I can’t post a new blog-because the page keeps freezing, I can’t edit an old blog because the page keeps freezing, I can’t get my videos to show up on the blog page-so I’m forced to leave a link (which is not nearly as pleasant.) I can’t spell check, I can’t see the font as well, and I can’t write in my blog with all this going on…What’s not to like????

this shit isint right, NO ONE IS HELPING US, i feel like i was just raped a few days ago and im here wondering.. are these dipshits going to fix these bugs or not?

everytime i publish, dashboard 2.5 completely changes the font format on my blog-post, and sometimes freezes and crashes the browser.. im to the point where i dont even care if i get banned or all my work that i have done to my blog gets deleted.. im to that point where im going to just forget about blogging al-together because of these einsteins that f***ed a good portion of us out of this hobby.

yeah.. you guys that dont have any problems can brush people like me off, just because it works for YOU doesnt mean it works for all of us.

    Do. Not. Like.

Give me back my old dashboard!

I have allready suggest to Matt/Wordpress.com that they should give 2 option design:
    i. classic/old design
    ii. new design

    Just Yahoo! Mail do!!!!!!

Sorry, MATT, but I dont thinks it is wise to urge/push WORDPRESS.com member to use this new design by way of deleting old design.

You should give us more time to practise or “two option”

Hate this new dashboard. Give me back the old one. From the VERY NEGATIVE reaction to the poor decision, it is obvious that no user testing was conduected be for this was thrown on the public.

Besides all the bugs that people have posted, why in the heck, did you make the dashboard a fixed width? This is so dumb, dumb, dumb. This is a dashboard, not yahoo.

This tiny dashboard only uses 1/3 of my desktop!!!

Are all of your developers using 17″ monitors????

Please return to the “classic” dashboard that worked and consumed the entire screen.

One of the beautiful things about WordPress was, a person with little or limited tech expertise could sign-up and begin blogging.

As I’ve stated previously, I’ve recommended WordPress to 30 to 40 people who started out on Blogger but grew unhappy. They’ve came over and were thrilled with WordPress.

This morning, inbox was full of email from people writing to complain about the new dashboard — as if I had anything to do with it. There’s no better feeling than receiving email messages from people angry with you for something you aren’t responsible for.

Thanks WordPress. Well done — not.

    @ karlshifflett

if you use IE, try Firefox Mozilla, hope problem solved, dude.

Can’t edit text in Text Widgets, (only one vertical half of edit box displays); can’t centre text; uploading new Word files is a nightmare. Some features much faster and more intuitive – but how come so many glitches were not discovered and sorted before this update was released?
